Minimum Wage Proposal Affects Personal Privacy Rights

On August 8, a coalition of labor, civil rights and community activist groups filed signatures to place a government-mandated "minimum" wage increase on Ohio's November 2006 ballot. But, the truth about this proposal is that it's not about raising the wage as the proponents proclaim. This proposal IS about invading employee's personal and private information, mandating additional onerous record-keeping requirements for employers, promulgating decades of litigation to determine vague and ambiguous language in the amendment, and increasing the minimum wage indefinitely - eventually effecting every employer and consumer in Ohio.
