The work of the Ohio General Assembly clearly impacts the future of Ohio's business climate. No single business organization understands that fact more fully than the Ohio Chamber of Commerce.

We are dedicated to presenting Ohio lawmakers with the business perspective on issues. As Ohio's largest and most diverse statewide business advocacy group, the Ohio Chamber has been a consistent voice for business for more than a century.

We continue that tradition, advancing legislation that will support successful Ohio businesses.

Cutting government red tape and improving Ohio's job climate are only part of the Ohio Chamber's mission for our members. We also save member companies money every day with a selection of free services and cost-saving programs.

The Crossroads of Commerce

A gift from American Electric Power (AEP), "Crossroads of Commerce" is a 16-foot sculpture constructed of materials processed by Ohio manufacturers. The work, created by Columbus designer/sculptor Stephen Canneto, symbolizes the past, present and future roles that commerce and the Ohio Chamber play in the lives of Ohio citizens.

The sculpture's solid stone bases and classic bronze form represent the past. The aluminum frame represents the rise of modern technology. And the stainless steel hemispheres open like a seed to reveal a core of lighted glass symbolizing the promise of the global economy.

The sculpture is positioned on the brick plaza in front of the Ohio Chamber's facility at 230 E. Town Street, Columbus (at the intersection of Fifth and Town Streets.)
